#66 MACHOP, #67 MACHOKE, #68 MACHAMP

Machop Machoke Machamp! I wanna talk about macho-mon! Today we're looking at the original fighting type trio from Generation 1! Lots of people use Machop and Machoke, but to get Machamp you had to trade with another player. Still, there are some interesting things to think about and saw when it comes to this trio.

There will be two sections in the article, each detailing a different set of edits I could've done to the deck (original article here) and my thoughts about how I will apply the methodology behind the edits in my next pre-release.

EX. Anybody else notice the formulaic pattern of Taylor Swift? I think me and this comic might be the first ones to notice the formula of some guy breaking up with her (even though she is probably perfect) and then she writing a song about how gross his pants were or how she is like totally fine without them. Also, check out the trailer for the new Ducktales HD remake!

WTF WED! LoL EDITION! DARIUS HIGH-FIVES TEEMO AFTER A TAPING OF 'MY BEAR TIBBERS' !

WTF WEDNESDAY PRESENTS

So, I've been playing lots of League of Legends and, as a sociopath who enjoys patterns and themes, I thought I'd share some weird/funny League of Legends animations with you guys-- whether you'll get them or not.

Usually, for League of Legend's themed entertainment, videogamedunkey is king, but it's fun to check out other stuff too. This first video, linked aboved, is a pretty simple and weird little animation that I enjoy...for some reason.

Kicking things up a notch, one of the features I love about League of Legends is there dedication to creating awesome skins for their characters (adds some variety to the already huge roster of characters). But, even more enjoyable, are the fan skins (some of which have seen integration into the game, like Astronautilus and Pool Party Ziggs).

This Manmo skin is a no-brainer. Teemo is one of the most recognizable characters in the game (I knew about Teemo before I ever played the game) and making the little moogle wannabe into a manly badass with a shotgun would be the best skin ever. I might even buy it!

Last but certainly not least is an excellent animation from plagueofgripes that looks at a League of Legends sitcom starring the flaming psychic teddy bear, Tibbers. I would tell you more, but why ruin the surprise?

WORD OF THE DAY! 5/8/13!

SOURCE: http://inkinesss.deviantart.com/
poro [por-oh]
noun
1. League of Legends. A native beast to the Freljord, these fluff balls are seemingly harmless and useless. If the creatures found on the Howling Abyss are fed Poro-Snax Biscuits, they will grow larger until, after eating ten biscuits, will pop into 7 or 8 poro-lings.

EX. "This savory blend of free-range, grass-fed Avarosan game hens and organic, non-ZMO Freljordian herbs contains the essential nutrients necessary to keep your Poro purring with pleasure. All proceeds will be donated towards fighting Noxian animal cruelty." -Poro-Snax

I've been playing a lot of LoL and I'm really loving the poro-filled map, The Howling Abyss they added for ARAM. Anybody else play LoL? Which champions are your faves? I play a lot of Alistar, Malzahar, Kog'Maw, Chogath, and Wukong!

WEEKLY ROUND-UP! 4/29-5/5/13!

WEEKLY ROUND-UP PRESENTS
THREE WOLF MOON-MOON WEEK!

7. WORD OF THE DAY! 5/1/13! Doublethink.

Will I ever grow tired of watching Pikaclone slapping Pikachu's chubby cheeks? The answer is no. No. Never.

6. POKÉMON OF THE WEEK! #48 VENONAT & #49 VENOMOTH!

I post a lot of Pokémon stuff, but I'm thinking that I might need to lighten up a bit on it and turn to some other fandoms (except there is SO much Pokécrap!).

5. WORD OF THE DAY! 4/30/13! Mustache.

I wish I could post more Superhero stuff but a) I haven't had the money to buy any new comics lately and b) there is honestly more relateable Pokémon content. Weird, huh?

4. MUSIC MON! REMEMBER MC CHRIS'S BEAUTIFUL GRUMP SONNET?

I took a week off and came back stronger than ever with a really strong Musical Monday article, two Tabletop tales articles, some decent Word of the Days, and a super-strong WTF Wed! And yet... I considered taking this week off, as well. I need some sort of additional motivation to keep this blog a-go-go.

3. TABLETOP TALES: DRAGON'S MAZE PRE-RELEASE! PT. 2 "AMERICAN DRAGONS"

This week I hope to follow up both of Dragon's Maze articles with two articles that try to show ways I could've used my card pool to build a stronger and more competitive deck in the format, while looking forward to the next event and the future of Standard.

2. TABLETOP TALES: DRAGON'S MAZE PRE-RELEASE! PT. 1 "NAYA WAR CHANT!"

But, while I didn't find much success, I've learned some tips and lessons from this setback about how to play my events. Like playing outside of my comfort zone, looking for the combos I wouldn't think of before I had the cards before me, and following a structure like about 15 creatures, 17 lands, and 8 non-creature spells (unless I have good control for a different combination).

1. WTF WED! JAPAN #5 SWIMMING ANIME CONFIRMED, MANNEQUINS & ANGLER FISH! (+lil witches)

This article was atomic hot with awesome and funny anime goodness from the shores of Japan (and a side of weirdness too). If you haven't checked out this article yet, do yourself a favor and do so.

NERDCULTURE SMACKDOWN! POKÉMON OF THE WEEK! MAY 7- MAY 10/13!

#387 TURTWIG, #388 GROTLE, #389 TORTERRA

Frickin' groovy! Today, we were talking about tons of turtle fun with the 4th Generation starter, Turtwig (my favorite grass starter) and it's evolutions, Grotle and Torterra. There are a lot of fun things to talk about with these guys designs that tie into why I like 4th Generation so much.

WORD OF THE DAY! 5/7/13!

transcendent [tran-sen-dent]
adjective
1. Going beyond ordinary limits; surpassing; exceeding.
2. Superior or supreme.

MUSICAL MON! THE MAKING OF THE FRELJORD, GRAND THEFT AUTO V TRAILER, & JON WINS!

MUSICAL MONDAY PRESENTS

First up, we got a little feature on the making of the the music for the newest League of Legends expansion/update set in the icy plains of the Freljord. I got into League of Legends about a month or so ago and I'm pretty much sold on it being my favorite multi-player video game (at the moment) since I've lost interest in Call of Duty for at least another year or so (most likely). League of Legends is fun, challenging, and free. Check it out HERE.

Then we got an awesome new three-part trailer about the three protagonists in Rockstars upcoming American epic, Grand Theft Auto V. This is probably the game I'm most anticipating (besides the new Link to the Past) and I'm sure I'll be picking it up on my Xbox when it arrives.

The music of the GTA series is something that has always been well-thought out, with radio stations being one of the things you can control while cruising (which helps kill the boredom of driving), and lots of funny satire of the corniness and splendor that is radio entertainment. I'm curious to see how they'll integrate music into the sequel of one of my favorite games of all time.

And, lastly, we've got some levity with the victory anthem for the Grump that is "Not So Grump" but is an obnoxious loser and winner (and I love the guy). When he wins, he grandstands and when he loses, he grumps harder than anything. And yet, it's important to remember that it's partially an act, since they do turn off their entertaining/over the top style from time to time. Regardless of how you feel about Game Grumps lately (I'm loving it. Especialy, Chulip.), this is a delightful remix. Enjoy.

WORD OF THE DAY! 5/6/13!

repel [reh-pehl/ree-pehl]
verb
1. To drive or force back (an assailant, invader, etc.).
2. To thrust back or away.
3. To resist effectively (an attack, onslaught, etc.).
4. To keep off or out; fail to mix with: Water and oil repel each other.
5. To resist the absorption or passage of (water or other liquid).
6. To refuse to have to do with; resist involvement in.
7. To refuse to accept or admit; reject.
8. To discourage the advances of (a person).
9. To cause distaste or aversion.
10. To push back or away by a force, as one body acting upon another (as opposed to attracting).

SOURCE: Dictionary.com

EX. Nothing is worse than when Repel wears off-- you need to get through an area with a high rate of Wild Pokémon that are not worth fighting for the minimal XP they will drop and/or you just wanna get from point A to point B without interruption and suddenly you're having to fight Zubats and Geodudes. Ugh.
