MIXED BAG. LET'S PLAY! POKÉMON EMERALD NUZLOCKE ATTEMPT #1! PART 4 & 5!

&

Remember when I said the episodes have been getting better? It seems adding Chris, Clay, and Justin into the mix spiced up the party (plus we were properly warmed up) and we got some generally funny moments. These are the last two episodes from this session but we will record another session of this save soon and I plan to do other series too.

The rules of the Nuzlocke Challenge are still against us... What are those Nuzlocke Challenge rules again?

The basic rules we use in our challenge are as follows:

1. You may only catch the first Pokémon you encounter in any route or area. After that encounter, you may not catch any other Pokémon in that route or area.

2. If a Pokémon dies it is considered dead, must be deposited in the last PC BOX, and never withdrawn. If your entire Pokémon team is knocked out, you're considered dead and must restart the game.

3. You must nickname ever Pokémon you catch.

And that's it folks. Make sure to keep an eye open for the next video/s.

WORD OF THE DAY! 4/11/14!

wet blanket [wet-blank-et]
noun
1. A blanket dampened with water, usually to extinguish a fire.
2. A person or thing that dampens enthusiasm.

EX. Greninja's reveal may have been a bit of a wet blanket, pun intended, to Mewtwo fans hoping to see their favorite Legendary monster return to the Smash Bros series (but there is still hope). In general, this Smash Bros Direct was probably one of the most engaging Nintendo Directs I can remember, despite being nearly 40 minutes of news about Smash Bros but, with so much information, nothing can dampen our excitement for upcoming installment. Some new information?

  • There will no longer be character B-Down transformations. Zelda and Sheik will be separate characters & Samus and Zero-Suit Samus will be seperate characters. Pokémon Trainer will most likely not return with the news of Charizard and Greninja being revealed as the new challengers. Yoshi is also returning.
  • Multiplayer will have a "Fun Mode" with all maps and items & a "Glory Mode" with no items and only Final Destination (to appease the hard cores). Furthermore, most or all stages in Smash Bros for the Wii-U will have a Final Destination version.
  • The 3DS version will have a special adventure mode called "Smash Run" mode.
  • The online multiplayer will no longer be anonymous-- players can be reported and banned for improper conduct.
  • Many stages will have Bosses that appear and can be attacked by the players. The last player to hit the Boss before it is finished gets an advantage as the Boss, like Yellow Devil, may explode or cause some other effect to hinder the other players.
And that's just the very basic stuff. We also got to see a lot of new stages, items, and learn about various characters mechanics. Oh and one last thing...

Super Smash Bros. for the 3DS is coming Summer 2014.

Super Smash Bros. for the Wii-U is coming Winter 2014.

If it doesn't come out by Christmas, Nintendo will be shooting themselves in the foot. This looks to be a bigger console seller than ever thanks to the hype train that Sakurai and his team at the Namco Bandai building are conducting. I dunno about you guys, but I'm climbing aboard this train! Next stop? Charizard being one of my mains!

MIXED BAG. LET'S PLAY! POKÉMON EMERALD NUZLOCKE ATTEMPT #1! PART 2 & 3!

&

And here (linked above and embedded further down) are the next two parts to my Emerald Nuzlocke Attempt #1 series! I've actually become a little more confident about doing more Let's Plays after further reviewing these and the next two episodes. It takes a little warming up for our commentary to get animated (something I'll take into mind in the future). These two episodes see us catching several Pokémon to add to our Nuzlocke roster. Unfortunately, due to the rules, it seems our luck is against us...

And, under these rules, we've added Sophie the Poochyena and Swiper the Zigzagoon to our team in Parts 2 & 3.

I hope to have the next two episodes up this weekend, so keep your eyes peeled.

WTF WED! DORAEMON 2020: THE WIZARD HORSE AND THE CUTSIE-POOPS!

Doraemon is probably the most beloved characters in the history of manga and his credentials have allowed him to one up Pokémon, the franchise that just became the mascots for Japan's national soccer team, by becoming the ambassador for Tokyo's 2020 Summer Olympics bid. The funny thing about Tokyo getting the 2020 Olympics is that the 1988 anime film, Akira, predicted that they would host the Olympics...in Neo-Tokyo and, int he film, the climax takes place at the stadium. This all leads up to a hilarious and weird mash-up of two very different subjects.

When equestrian magic meets human technology, apparently hijinks ensue in the newest cartoon from the fellas who brought you Charlie the Unicorn.

Who is driving? Oh my god, Bear is driving?! How can that be?!

MIXED BAG. LET'S PLAY! POKÉMON EMERALD NUZLOCKE ATTEMPT #1! PART 1!

And here it is folks! The very first episode of the Mixed Bag's Let's Play series.

With the help of my friend AceofSpadesCard (Steven Pullam), I finally started a Let's Play of Pokémon Emerald. But it is not just any somewhat amateurish (mostly due to lack of preparedness and my poor editing skills) Let's Play. It's a Nuzlocke Challenge. Some of you might be asking "What is a Nuzlocke?"

The Nuzlocke Challenge was created in 2010, and you read the creator of the challenge's story HERE and read his webcomic HERE, but here is the gist of it;

The Nuzlocke Challenge is a way for veterans of the Pokémon games to up the ante of the game intended for children to painfully difficult levels. This involves using arbitrary self-imposed rules that make the game easier than a breeze.

And that's it. Right? Well you'll probably quickly find that things are frustrating when every time your Pokémon goes into battle could be a critical hit waiting to happen and you can't grind quick enough to stand a chance. This is our third attempt on a Nuzlocke in Emerald, hence the PC's name being Korbo 3, and the hardships leading to this attempt are still with us.

The struggle is real.

So, join Corey, Steven and I on are Pokémon journey and let me know what you think. I'll be releasing more episodes later this week and the next. I also intend to start another Let's Play as sort of a solo vlog sort of thing to talk about movies, games, and my life as I try my hand at another challenging or relaxing run of my favorite RPG series.

MUSIC MON! KILL LA KILL THE CREEPER RUNNING ERRANDS WITH HIS MUM!

I really need to just take a day and watch all of Kill la Kill.

I used to watch more anime, read manga, and was studying Japanese.

Now? What sort of otaku am I? What sort of outcast have I become?

I need to have myself an anime soliloquy with some flash backs to overcome this roadblock.

Tick tock. Tick rock. Boom boom boom.
I can't stop singing this bloody tune tune tune.
It's gonna make my brain go boom boom boom.

I'm so hardcore. I'm friends with the police.

Apologies. Sorry. I have none.
