WORD OF THE DAY! 8/10/13!

mega [meh-guh]
adjective
1. Slang. Extremely good, super, or awesome.

EX. As a preview to an upcoming update on Pokémon X & Y, let's talk about the most controversial of the new Mega Evolutions (yes, there is a thing called Mega Evolutions, that I will explain during an article later this week). I chose Mega Ampharos because Ampharos is one of my favorite Pokémon that I've always felt got gypped.

So, by holding a special Mega stone, Ampharos is supposed to Mega-Evolve into Mega-Ampharos who has the most amazing hairdo of any Pokémon ever. Oh and he is Electric/Dragon type and has the ability Moldbreaker. But, the rumors at the moment seem to point to Mega-Evolutions only lasting during battles...which is said. Still, unlike many people who don't like this hair rock god, I like him.

And the froo-froo sillyness helps too, I guess.

NSFW. EFFED UP FRIDAY! SCIENTIFICALLY ACCURATE DUCKS VS. PONIES VS. TURTLES! NSFW.

I apologize....

...forgiveness please...

...and I'm sorry.

But, in all seriousness, the first and third videos are catchy effed up "scientifically accurate" remakes of two of my childhood favorites based on the many effed up facts about the creatures that stared in Duck Tales and TMNT. The middle video is something that has a certain sort of mileage for some people, but I only found mildly amusing. Still, my goal with these sorts of articles is to give you a little look into the annals of my internet history as I constantly search for personal stimulation and content to share.

WORD OF THE DAY! 8/9/13!

parallel universe [pehr-uh-lel-yoo-nuh-vers]
noun
1. A theory that there is a mirror universe and when one makes a decision in this universe, an alternate 'you' in the other universe makes the opposite decision.

EX. In a parallel universe, Squirtle was my starter Pokémon, in Pokémon Blue Version, instead of Charmander. In that Universe, my team when I played against the Elite Four was Blastoise, Alakazam, Jolteon, Arcanine, Snorlax,  and Articuno. I got Alakazam by trading a Machoke for a Kadabra. In that universe, I traded my Pokémon, and made different friends. From that moment, my life begins to change more and more from this one until I'm an actor on the Disney Channel show "What's That Smell?", then star in the second Transformers movie, before winding up crashing a tractor into an Alaskan ice fissure with Lindsay Lohan and being eaten alive by a Grizzly-Polar Bear hybrid.

I guess it's a good thing I chose Charmander?

2. Being one of twelve equal parts.
noun
3. A 12th part of something, especially 1/12th.
4. The 12th member or object in a series.

EX. Lo and behold! On Sunday, the identity of the newest and dozenth actor to play Doctor Who's titular character was revealed to be Peter Capaldi. Watch the video linked below and tell me what you think:

WEEKLY ROUND-UP! 7/29-8/4/13!

WEEKLY ROUND-UP PRESENTS

7. WORD OF THE DAY! 8/1/13! Lurking.

Some examples of lurking I have been a part of lately; every Zimmerman/Trayvon related discussion on Facebook. Don't worry. Someone cares about your opinions. That was probably creepy, wasn't it?
6. MUSIC MON! CAESAR KANYE'S FINAL FANTASY 3030!

The internet is in my zone. Be careful... in my zone. Saying "IN MY ZONE" has gotten out of control amongst my friends.
5. WTF WED! ELEPHANTS, MYSTERIES, GYPSIES, & GEORGE LUCAS!

In a mini-defense of George Lucas, as much as I enjoy parodies of him as an comically villainous tyrant, he did have a certain level of quality control in mind for Star Wars...

4. WORD OF THE DAY! 7/29/13! Allusion.

...Disney on the other hand, it's rumored, seems to plan to do some awful things like cast celebrity actors in lead roles and make an ABC Star Wars show. You're not a bad person if you watch ABC, wait, no, you probably are. JUDGEMENT!

3. POKÉMON OF THE WEEK! #390 CHIMCHAR, #391 MONFERNO, & #392 INFERNAPE

This was one of the better Pokémon of the Week articles I've written because a) they're frickin' awesome and b) the anime bits with them are frickin' awesome. I'll try and share some stuff from the anime, when I can, since that seems to dredge up some badass/funny stuff.

2. WORD OF THE DAY! 7/30/13! Karoshi, salaryman, etc.

This was a bit of a downer, but I think I really pick it up in the end with a bit of a positive message in this 4 AM mini-essay on my studies/thoughts on Japanese suicide culture.

Should I write more articles like this one for you guys?

1. TABLETOP TALES PRESENTS MY FIRST COMMANDER DECK: TIMMY THE ANIMA!

My next magic article I'll be working on is about my reworked Standard GW Midrange Aggro.

WORD OF THE DAY! 8/6/13!

bandwagon [band-wag-ehn]
noun
1. A party, cause, or movement that due to mass appeal, strength, etc. attracts many followers.

EX. I didn't get into Pokémon because my friends were into Pokémon. I got in Pokémon after seeing it on TV and getting a copy of this:

Without even playing the games, I was obsessed with little monsters, learning all I could about them, drawing them, etc. I had no friends at the time. I had just moved, again (Navy brat), but it didn't take long to discover everyone else was into Pokémon as much as I was. I watched the anime, bought a few cards, toys, games, etc. It was amazing. Then, all of the sudden, everyone who had been enjoying the phenomena seemed to turn on it. I wonder what causes such a thing to happen? Is it human nature to jump on bandwagons? I prefer bandwagons that get people to do things they enjoy over bandwagons that get people to do stop doing things they enjoy and judge others... For a short while, we all had something in common and we all had friends. That's pretty special.

Ukinojoe keeps surprising me with his 90s Nick commentary.

MUSIC MONDAY! YORDLE & POKÉMON ATTACK ON THE NAUGHTILUS ZONE!

First up we've got another nifty Attack on Titan remix that I'd put in the same category as the Attack on New Leaf remix because of it's extremely clever use of video game sound effects to recreate the dramatic and catchy theme to the biggest anime break out hit of the last couple of years (at least that's what the internet would have me believe). The use of Pokémon cries must've taken a good bit of work and, while a bit grating, it's technically impressive and amusing.

Next up we got a video that parodies Gangster's Paradise, a song you cannot go wrong parodying as was first shown by the master Weird Al Yankovic's "Amish Paradise". This is a fun collaboration between a number of artists dedicated to the little folk of League of Legends, the Yordles, that shows that one of the strengths of League of Legends is the cast of characters you find in the Summoner's Rift.

Speaking of the Summoner's Rift, I hope to be getting in my Zone pretty soon. My lane? Bot. My position? ADC. My main? Caitlyn. My zone? Just don't get up in my zone.

WORD OF THE DAY! 8/5/13!

revelation [reh-vel-ehy-shun]
noun
1. The act of revealing or disclosing; disclosure.
2. Something revealed or disclosed, especially a striking disclosure, as of something not before realized.
EX. The fact that Ariel and Hercules are both related to the Christmas tree of f***ery of the Greek pantheon's family is not really that surprising to me. On the other hand, the following is a revelation that I'm not sure I can accept.
