WORD OF THE DAY! 5/15/14!

alpha and omega [al-fah-and-oh-meg-uh]
noun
1. Christianity. "The beginning of the end." (Revelations 1.8) The term comes from an appellation of Jesus, "I am the beginning and the end" but is not commonly found in older biblical texts and editions.
2. The basic or essential element of elements.
3. The first and last letters of the Greek alphabet.

EX. Seriously? Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire? Hoenn is confirmed just in time for the apocalypse, fellas, just like you wanted, apparently. I gotta admit that no one is surprised by this predicament, but I'm a little disappointed to see no Emerald version since that is pretty much my favorite Pokémon game of all time.

Still, this means we'll probably get more mega evolutions and I would shocked if they don't include elements from Emerald. I just hope it comes with a Pokéwalker.

NERDCULTURE SMACKDOWN! POKÉMON OF THE WEEK! JULY 27- AUGUST 2/13!

#347 ANORITH & #348 ARMALDO

This was a challenge to make because, much to my dismay, art containing these plated shrimp Rock/Bug Pokémon were as rare as their fossils are in the games. I chose Anorith and Armaldo during my first play-through of Ruby, due to their nifty design and typing, but was dismayed to find the internet lacking in fanart. What's wrong with you, internet? You getting weak?

NERDCULTURE SMACKDOWN! POKÉMON OF THE WEEK! APR 20-APR 27/13!

#335 ZANGOOSE & #336 SEVIPER

This week we are talking about two Pokémon that get together like Digimon fans and um... being fans of an undeniably successful franchise and piece of impact-making popular culture! BURN! Pokérivalries can be a lot of fun and Zangoose & Seviper represent the immortal archetype in fiction of the rivalry between the mongoose and the snake (usually a cobra, but Arbok already exists so a viper will do).

On a side note, Pokémon heights are something that needs to be fixed like offically because in the anime some Pokémon have fluxuating sizes and, in the official Pokédex the size of some Pokémon is strange-- ex. Charizard should be bigger (a lot of 1st Gen Pokémon seem smaller than they should actually be and I reckon it's to keep to the "whole pocket monster" thing).

NERDCULTURE SMACKDOWN! POKÉMON OF THE WEEK! APR 6-APR 12/13!

#318 CAVANHA & #319 SHARPEDO

Ahoy there folks! Looks like we got another couple of water Pokémon to talk about this week (there are a lot of water Pokémon) but at least they're dark type too. As per usual, I used random number generator and, per usual, I never know what we're gonna experience. All I know that for this article...we're gonna need a bigger boat.

NERDCULTURE SMACKDOWN! POKÉMON OF THE WEEK! MAR 9-MAR 15/13!

#382 KYOGRE, #383 GROUDON, & #384 RAYQUAZA

This week we've got the legendary Weather Trio from Pokémon's Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald third generation titles from the Gameboy Advance. I have a lot of nostalgia towards the third generation because it was the first title that I anticipated with daily research into Pokémon spoilers! (Yes, really, it was a big deal to my dorky self). I especially have fond memories of Emerald thanks to the inclusion of the Battle Frontier that made the game far more replayable and, considering the strategy improved a lot with the third generation, I was very glad to have more game time. Now, let's get to business...
