WORD OF THE DAY! 10/22/12.

dry wall [drahy-wal]
noun
1.  Also, called "dry-wall".
a. An interior wall or partition finished in a dry material, usually in the form of prefabricated sheets or panels nailed to studs, as distinguished from one that is plastered.
b. A material, as wallboard or plasterboard, used for such a wall.
2. A masonry or stone wall laid up without mortar.

EX. Happy Thanksgiving! I hope everybody enjoys the holiday, the family, the friends, the love, and the food. But, I don't recommend whipping up a turkey from the dry wall-- unless you're in a vampire castle because, apparently, they store food in crawl spaces and in masonry.

Nerd things I am thankful for this year: Japan, Star Wars, Nintendo, Hayao Miyazaki, Pokemon (especially Pikachu), Legend of Zelda, Batman, Goof Troop on the SNES, Baby Cakes, Table Top, Robin, Fiasco, Super Mario Sunshine, China, Il. , Snowflame, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Magic the Gathering, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Starkids, The Avengers, Star Trek, Dungeons & Dragons, Totoro, Game Grumps, and Twilight... apparently. If I missed anything, you probably won't let me know what I forgot to thank.

WORD OF THE DAY! 1/5/12

celibate [sel-uh-bit]
noun
1. a person who abstains from sexual relations.
2. a person who remains unmarried, especially for religious reasons.
adjective
3. observing or pertaining to a religious vow of abstinence or a religious vow not to marry.
4. not married

EX. Apparently, nothing is more exciting or attractive to the most prudish of creatures, the unicorn, than the prospects of being around/seen/interacting with a celibate individual. This can be related to the old folklore that unicorns only appear to virgins. Unicorns are physically disgusted by anyone who has so much as touched another person wee-wee or hoo-ha.

For further reference, watch the forgotten animated classic, The Last Unicorn.

Despite the fact that the above link has one of the most obnoxious, selfish and poorly performed songs in animated film history- The Last Unicorn really is a very interesting film.

WORD OF THE DAY! 1/4/12

role-play
[rohl-pley]

verb (used with object)
1. to assume the attitudes, actions, personality, and discourse of another person or character, especially in a make-believe situation in an effort to understand a different view point or social intereaction.
2. to experiment or experience a situation or viewpoint by assuming a role.
verb (used without object)
3. to engage in role-playing.

EX. So what if Mario likes to role-play as a tanuki. If it gives him the power to fly and kill crap with his tail, more power to the insane, mustachioed plumber. (Furry or not, flying is flying) Luigi, on the other hand, has some serious self-confidence issues to be role-playing as his brother. Yet, the princesses shouldn't be so judgmental and perhaps should take a moment to role-play as the brothers to get a better understanding of the insane amounts of stress they have to deal with every time their beloved princesses are kidnapped.

MIXED BAG. WEB COMIC SHOUT-OUT #5 CHRISTMAS EDITION

Today's subject is a holiday dump of my favorite web-comics. The following webcomics are comics that I tend to check at least once a day (if not more).

Just to reiterate, OGLAF is a very funny comic, but extremely graphic, violent, sexual and vulgar. VERY NSFW. Sorry for lack of Christmas, because the closest thing involved the Ice Queen...
