verb
4. To discuss (a motion), especially in a formal assembly.

EX. I've always been a sentimental, altruistic, optimist and dreamer; the problem with these qualities is that, without my intellect keeping my hold of reality intact through reason and skepticism, I'm constantly fantasizing about life in an alternate universe; especially one with fantasy or sci-fi elements. The debate and the two images above made me think about one of my favorite realities; I, sincrerely wish we lived in the Pokenmon universe for the following reasons, mostly in no particular order.

TOP 11 REASONS THAT THE POKEMON UNIVERSE
IS BETTER THAN OUR UNIVERSE

11. Transportation: By Air and By Sea

Certain Pokemon can learn the abilities to Fly and Surf, even many pokemon that seem like they shouldn't be able to, with their owners on their back. Not only does this process seem pretty speedy and safe in the Pokemon series, it seems pretty efficient and, while cars, boats, and planes do exist in the pokemon universe, I think most trainer would want to use their pokemon to at least travel small distance. I know I'd be using my Togekiss to get to and from work and school.

10.Healthcare: Free & Available to All

I assume that if Pokecenters can fix almost any pokehealth problem (I haven't witnessed a Pokemon dying of non-natural causes yet) than it can also be assumed they can fix human health as well. There is a Pokemon center in every town, as well as along the way between towns, and if you don't have time to get to a Pokemon center, you can always pick up healing items. The only question about this...is human medicine in this universe as advanced as pokemedicine?

9. Futuristic Technology: Time Machines, Teleporters, and Micro-Digitization

I've actually already explained the potential technology behind Pokeballs (Click Here) and pixelation (Click Here), but that is just one advance. Scientists in the Pokemon Universe have also cloned Pokemon, built Time Machines, can bring fossils back to life, digitally store and transfer Pokemon through computers, and have discovered ways to travel between space, time and in between. In this world of super technology around every bend, it would be amazing to be a scientist and to think of ways to use these technologies to make comfortable life easier for everyone.

8. Agriculture/Comfort: Control of the Weather & Environment

I don't they ever gave a perfect non-meta explanation of the pokemon moves Rainy Day and Sunny Day, but we can assume that these moves allow a pokemon to change the weather in a small environment. This alone could have all kinds of potential to help during droughts and floods; also, if we could manage to have good relationships with legendary pokemon the weather wouldn't spin too far out of control. Combined with the other elemental powers of Pokemon, it can be assured much could be done in the ways of improving agriculture and the local environment.

7. Entertainment: Training, Fighting, Contests & More...

Personally, I'd probably just train my pokemon for fighting and other athletic competition, BUT if I had a pokemon with a spark for showing off, I might go take place in a contest; one of the most popular misunderstandings from non-fans is that Pokemon are just fighting. In actuality, they can be used for the following confirmed forms of entertainment; battles, double battles, triple battles, races, hiking, swimming, fashion contests, talent contests, a variety of catching contests, and much much more. Heck, the simple activities that can be had in catching and training Pokemon would be entertaining. Or would a talking pet not interest you?

6. No War: Peace On PokeEarth & Goodwill to all Trainers

There haven't been any Pokemon wars between nations, as far as I know, and the only war or soldier mentioned is related to the Generation 1 Gym Leader Lt. "The Lightning American" Surge, but it can be inferred that his war was probably as part of a task force against the terrorists Team Rocket. Mind you, if your biggest concern is Team Rocket, or their predecessors, than things aren't so bad; mostly problems are resolved through Pokemon battles and the good guys win, in the end.

5 Travel & Culture: A World Connected by Ambition & Friendship

Through your travels in the Pokemon world, it is easy to discover all of the cultural differences, festivals, and other cool difference between regions and towns. In some towns, certain pokemon are especially important or they live agricultural lifestyles or they live in futuristic cities or they have special traditions and so on & so froth. There is a lot to discover and people are generally pretty polite to outsiders and open to guests into their villages/homes (especially from young trainers).

4. Adventure: Places to See & New Discoveries Over Every Hill

I'm gonna start by admitting something; I don't mind that they keep introducing new regions into the Pokemon world! Really, I hope it keeps getting bigger and bigger so that we can see more lands, more pokemon, and more adventures! One of the most amazing parts of this world is that there is never no hill left to go over and no land left unconquered!

3. Jobs/Economy: Trainers, Breeders, Gym Leaders, Professors, Etc.

There seem to be few to no people starving or begging in the Pokemon world; either you make a living as a trainer, poke breeder, gym leader, or you get a real job like a photographer, scientist, waitress, etc. There is no end to the jobs you can take and public service jobs seem to be pretty popular as well; with Pokemon police, nurses, and more. Heck, getting wealthy in this world doesn't even seem that difficult; just don't worry about making a fortune of Magikarps, manafacture and sell something useful like bicycles which apparently cost a fortune...

2. Friendship/Companionship: Pokemon, Traveling Companions, & Gym Pals

How many friendships can compare to that of Ash and Pikachu? The short answer is not very many. Pokemons and trainers become dear and close companions and friends. Then, through meeting other trainings with similar interests you can create parties of friends. These relationships are quite enviable, I must admit, and to be able to have a constant friend like Pikachu or Brock would be pretty awesome; friends enhance adventure and fun.

A picture I drew last year of myself and six of my favorite pokemon.
1. There May Be Trouble: But Anyone Can Be a Hero

Now, the Pokemon world isn't perfect; between legendary and giant pokemon going berserk, terrorist organizations like Team Rocket, and general skullduggery there is a lot of trouble in this mostly peaceful world. But that's okay. Anybody can be a hero if they have pokemon! You can put out a fire, stop a raging pokemon, save someone from falling from a high height, so on and so forth; Pokemon can do things that nobody else can do and, with your help, your pokemon can make the world a better place.
