1. a celestial body which orbits the Sun but is further from it than Neptune; designated by the International Astronomical Union to refer to Pluto and similar space objects.
EX. The recent omission of Pluto from the designation of planet has stirred up a lot of debate. I care more about the emotional denigration that Pluto is going from by being downgraded to a dwarf planet or plutoid.
