MUSIC MON! PSY'S OLD SPICY KOREAN CABBAGE PRAYER TO GANGNAM GRUMPS!

Oh boy! Time for a late late late MLK Day Musical Monday!

The first song in our trio of tra-la-la is the newest viral advertising campaign from the deodorant company, Old Spice, that brought us THIS and THIS and so much more entertainment in the name of trying to sell us on a deodorant that, unlike some of its other competitors, won't leave you smelling like a teenage boy's jockstrap. Instead, it seems, Old Spice uses a combination of insanely bizarre comedy and the pitch that using the spray will turn you into a "man", not basically attract girls like honey to flies, but instead give of an air of masculine maturity.

None of these commercials have managed to bring this note home quite like this lilting little piece of lunacy in the form of having a dozen mothers lament the loss of their little baby boys to the lovely young ladies attracted to their more mature scent.

You know what goes good with Old Spice?

Guile's Theme.

I don't know if you guys knew this but, on the internet, it is a well-known rule; Guile's Theme from Street Fighter goes with everything. You can combine the catchy little tune with just about anything to create something that will pump just about anything up to eleven. Seriously, you should try it before you knock it. It even goes with ponies.

And as for Game Grumps...

...they can take any musical experience from a passable bit of entertainment and elevate into something that most people would be too ashamed to record, much less share with over a million subscribers, and probably give their art to the government a la Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark.

It is beauty, it is grace, it is Grump.

MUSIC MON! MIAMI CONNECT YOUR EAR TO KOREAN LEAGUE OF LEGENDS SCIENCE REMIXES!

Miami Connection is my new favorite b-movie cult classic. Miami, Flordia ca. 1987. A taekwondo themed rock band, Dragon Sound, has just scored an in-house gig at the hottest club in town and are drawing in the young and tasteless by the droves with the martial arts slapstick, ninja-themed lyrics, and the quaffed mullet to end all mullets. What could go wrong?

(OR read the description BELOW instead)

The only have three problems. A rival band wants revenge on Dragon Sound for stealing their gig, the band's keyboard player is having trouble reconnecting with a long-lost father, and, if that all wasn't bad enough, a crime ring of ninja bikers wants their bassist's head for dating the younger sister of their second-in-command. This movie is made of the 80's.

It's on Netflix. Go watch it. Now.

I like League of Legends. Here is a League of Legends remix of almost every champion's character select voice-over. I don't have a ton to say about the situation.

Next up, we've got a belated look at the buddha-bellied rap-off between these two big stars that took to the world stage in the last year, Kim Jong-Un and PSY. One is an evil dictator and the other is a beloved entertainer. We've talked a lot of about Kim Jong-Un on this blog through various articles and a little about PSY, but I think we all know enough about these two to enjoy this parody.

Lastly, we've got a haunting and lovely remix from melodysheep. The concept of black holes have always fascinated me; the power & the mystery are unlike any other space phenomena.

MUSICAL MONDAY! THE EMOTIONAL CLAWS & HAN SOLO GANGNAME STYLE!

MUSICAL MONDAY PRESENTS

I think what sets Game Grumps aside from every other Let's Play series on the planet is two factors: first and foremost, the personalities and improvisation of Jon Jafari AKA Jon Tron and Arin Hanson AKA Egoraptor. The second factor that makes it incredibly infectious is the enthusiasm of the fan base and their creativity. I've shared some Game Grumps in the past (CHECK THIS OUT) and this week I had to share the results of an improvised musical based on the TMNT character, War. I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do.

And as a sweetener, a couple of bonus videos:

&

The second video is from my friend, omgitskazer, who has just gotten back into making videos, including his video game advice video series KAZER VS.  What I like about the Halo Machinima posted above is that is both explained Gangnam Style in a mature and smart way, in an interesting format, and ended with a laugh. Good stuff.
