WEEKLY ROUND-UP! 12/26/11-1/1/12

WEEKLY ROUND-UP:
BEHOLDER WEEK!

A Very Potter Musical is probably the coolest fan project I have ever seen and its even better because there is a sequel. That and the idea of a lion wizard running around on Mars is about the coolest thing since Falcor.

This delightful little art dump is dedicated to the coolest sub genre to evolve out of the last decade! STEAMPUNK!

"Oh, bother. It appears are old friends have found their way through three secure checkpoints, Christopher Robin." Pooh stared at the blinking red dots that scattered across the 360 degree circle of panels around himself and his companion.

Christopher Robin looked down at his former figment with a satisfied frown, "Don't worry, my silly old bear." He looked at his watch, "Calvin and Hobbes won't be reaching their honey if I have anything to say about it."

Can you think of a better way for me to start the year than a Pokemon parody?

"Aura Gnarlid is half of the formula to my deck. This common card's abilities turn it into a powerhouse! Slapping an aura on another one of your creatures? He gets a +1/+1. Pacifying an enemy monster? He gets a +1/+1. Equip him with Spirit Mantle? Aura Gnarlid doesn't give a poo!"

Pokemon and Team Fortress 2 go together like chocolate and peanut butter- WAIT! That's brilliant! Someone should make a snack that combines chocolate and peanut butter! Maybe it could be disc shaped?

Poor Ash Ketchum. He has been a prepubescent child for over ten years. Surely, he is like the Grecian parable of Sisyphus, forced to push the same boulder up the same hill for all eternity.

WORD OF THE DAY! 12/2911

beholder [bih-hohld-er]
noun
1. Dungeons & Dragons. A fantasy creature created by Terry Kuntz, designed by Gary Gygax and first published in Dungeons and Dragons expansion Greyhawk (1975). The creature is a floating orb of flesh with one large eyeball, a humanoid mouth, and it's mass is covered in smaller eye-stalks. From each of its eyes it can cast deadly magical spells.

Beholders live in a cruel, xenophobic, and murderous societies that dwell in the Underdark. Beholders are almost universally hated and hate almost universally. They usually only put up with other species as slaves, but individuals have been known to take up residence as guards of dungeons and keeps. Beholder societies wage war amongst their own factions and against other races.

EX. Murderous intent is in the Eye of the Beholder.
