MIXED BAG. LET'S PLAY! POKÉMON EMERALD NUZLOCKE ATTEMPT #1! PART 2 & 3!

&

And here (linked above and embedded further down) are the next two parts to my Emerald Nuzlocke Attempt #1 series! I've actually become a little more confident about doing more Let's Plays after further reviewing these and the next two episodes. It takes a little warming up for our commentary to get animated (something I'll take into mind in the future). These two episodes see us catching several Pokémon to add to our Nuzlocke roster. Unfortunately, due to the rules, it seems our luck is against us... What are those Nuzlocke Challenge rules again?

 The basic rules we use in our challenge are as follows:

1. You may only catch the first Pokémon you encounter in any route or area. After that encounter, you may not catch any other Pokémon in that route or area.

2. If a Pokémon dies it is considered dead, must be deposited in the last PC BOX, and never withdrawn. If your entire Pokémon team is knocked out, you're considered dead and must restart the game.

3. You must nickname ever Pokémon you catch.

And, under these rules, we've added Sophie the Poochyena and Swiper the Zigzagoon to our team in Parts 2 & 3.

I hope to have the next two episodes up this weekend, so keep your eyes peeled.

MIXED BAG. LET'S PLAY! POKÉMON EMERALD NUZLOCKE ATTEMPT #1! PART 1!

And here it is folks! The very first episode of the Mixed Bag's Let's Play series.

With the help of my friend AceofSpadesCard (Steven Pullam), I finally started a Let's Play of Pokémon Emerald. But it is not just any somewhat amateurish (mostly due to lack of preparedness and my poor editing skills) Let's Play. It's a Nuzlocke Challenge. Some of you might be asking "What is a Nuzlocke?"

The Nuzlocke Challenge was created in 2010, and you read the creator of the challenge's story HERE and read his webcomic HERE, but here is the gist of it;

The Nuzlocke Challenge is a way for veterans of the Pokémon games to up the ante of the game intended for children to painfully difficult levels. This involves using arbitrary self-imposed rules that make the game easier than a breeze.

And that's it. Right? Well you'll probably quickly find that things are frustrating when every time your Pokémon goes into battle could be a critical hit waiting to happen and you can't grind quick enough to stand a chance. This is our third attempt on a Nuzlocke in Emerald, hence the PC's name being Korbo 3, and the hardships leading to this attempt are still with us.

The struggle is real.

So, join Corey, Steven and I on are Pokémon journey and let me know what you think. I'll be releasing more episodes later this week and the next. I also intend to start another Let's Play as sort of a solo vlog sort of thing to talk about movies, games, and my life as I try my hand at another challenging or relaxing run of my favorite RPG series.
