WORD OF THE DAY! 10/21/14!
secateurs [sec-uh-toors]
noun
1. Sheers or scissors.
EX. Let's cut to the chase with a pair of secateurs.
Clock Tower is a game that doesn't really get the attention it deserves. In many ways, it set precedence for the horror genre of games. Despite being limited by the hardware of the time, the game manages to set up a lot of tension and atmosphere. It starts rather slow and the dialogue is very melodramatic but, when you're faced with the "Scissor-Man" you're going to be spooked, you're going to run, and your mind will race with desperation as you seek an escape. The game is all about replaying each scene and scenario to learn the best way and get the best endings through solving puzzles and timing everything.
Sound familiar?
Sounds like Resident Evil and Silent Hill.

WTF WED! KUTARAGI ENDORSES GUNNAR SCOUTERS IN WATCHING VEGETA VS. MEWTWO!
As my friend Corey pointed out early today, I like corny 80's direct to VHS action tripe and Kutaragi's Way, the reenactment of Ken Kutaragi's rise to become the head of Sony Computer Entertainment and the bringing about of the Playstation brand that earned him the title of the "Father of the Playstation" & a lifetime achievement award courtesy of the GDC Awards & Mega 64.
It is exactly as he remembers the events.
Shortly after Dunkey's ground-breaking review of Blubberducky 2, we were blessed with his latest gameplay highlights of the newest champion to the League of Legends roster, Vel'koz the Eye of the Void.
I'm making a note here. Huge success.
Let's end with a marathon of weird that is the Vegeta Vs. Mewtwo Special. It is a collaboration between many interesting entertainers and animators of youtube to birth an abominable onslaught of shorts all in order to answer who would win in the classic battle between Super Saiyan and Super Pokémon.
Now, I gotta bail. I tried the new breakfast items at Taco Bell this morning (had a coupon for two free meals) and the results are less than magical.

WORD OF THE DAY! 2/4/14!
clank [clangk]
noun
1. A sharp, hard, nonresonant sound, usually produced by striking together two pieces of metal.
verb
2. To make such a sound, move with such sounds, or cause such a sound.
EX. Clanking into a theater near you are The Ratchet and Clank & Sly Cooper CG-animated films, in 2015 and 2016 respectively, and I gotta wonder...why?
Sure, the franchises are successful and have fan bases, but are they truly big enough to carry a full-length feature film? Do they have the cross-audience appeal to bring in new fans with a film or will the humor, stretched too thin, fall flat across a 90+ min. run time? The history of video game films spell disaster for these two films, but maybe the fact that they're being CG-animated spells a certain level of investment that these film's fore-bearers lacked.
At the least, the internet will have something to whinge about and Deviantart will have plenty of fodder for Rule 34 art.
Clank, clank.
P.S. Still better than the concept art below.
P.P.S. Hoenn confirmed.

MIXED BAG. PS4: MY FIRST IMPRESSIONS!
MIXED BAG PRESENTS
PS4: MY FIRST IMPRESSION!
Last night, alongside hundreds of thousands of viewers ranging from casual gamers to veteran video game journalists got their first peek at Sony's game plan for the PS4-- we got to see some new hardware, some new software, and a lot of talk about how PS4 plans to win its way into our homes & hearts. The purpose of today's article is to give you guy's my first-hand impressions and gut-feelings about the features they described and the games they showed off.
Before I get started, I wanna apologize for not doing this with the Wii-U-- yet! If this article has some legs, I might try and describe how I feel about Nintendo's newest console they released last Fall (cuz it still feels like it just launched with so little momentum right now).
As I break down each of my impressions, I will be linking as many videos as I can to help fill the blanks for you guys.
P.S. In case you're wondering, I do own a PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii. PS3 was my first Sony console and I do not play it as much as my Xbox, but probably around the same as my Wii. So, that gives you a frame of reference to judge my biases.

WORD OF THE DAY! 9/11/12.
handheld gaming [hand-held-gey-ming]
noun
1. The act of playing a handheld or portable video game console, usually while sitting on the toilet or as a sedentary passenger on a trip.
EX. Handheld gaming is a special kind of hobby, a pleasure, that is usually reserved for the young-- and no, we're not talking about mobile gaming. Mobile gaming is the TV killing the Radio Star in this situation by replacing impressive cartridge based systems that made up the majority of my childhood fun with fiddling around with some mobile farmville shenanigans.
Handheld gaming allows you to turn a boring trip into an adventure. Mobile gaming...well, it lets you trade cows?
