WELCOME TO SHOVEL KNIGHT WEEK!
We start out with brentalfloss's latest indulgent treat! Shovel Knight is a game with fantastic music, so it makes sense that he'd make a "with lyrics" song about it. The game has only been out for two weeks, but you can name your own price & download the soundtrack today from the game's principle composer, James Kaufman. Another major composer on the soundtrack is the fantastic Manami Matsumae, who worked on the soundtracks for the original Megaman and the upcoming Mighty No. 9.
But yeah, seriously, this game's soundtrack has a great pedigree and has some super catchy 8-Bit tunes.
Like a reanimated Cthulu muppet, Weird Al rises through the sea of satire to sing the songs of Rylai once more! The King of Kookiness has returned and all shall laugh and all shall cry and all shall probably forward a song or two. Maybe...?
Anywho, the King is back with a fantastic parody of Pharell Williams megahit Happy. It instead covers the activities (crimes) of tacky people ranging from fashion faux pas to just being rude & obnoxious! It is a send-up of some of the tackier elements of the new millennium, from taking pictures of your food at every meal to Ed Hardy shirts to #YOLO to twerking, and has a ton of great cameos.
The best part? It just has that fantastic Weird Al Yankovic sound to it that we've been listening to since he was in high school.
