NERDCULTURE SMACKDOWN! POKÉMONS OF THE WEEK! FEB 23 -MAR 1 /13!

#316 GULPIN & #317 SWALOT

Today, we're looking a pair of poison Pokemon from the third generation that seem to be the spiritual successors to Grimer & Muk-- #316 Gulpin & #317 Swalot. This goes out to all of who have gotten sick because of the up and down weather with these snotty Pokémon.

These are a couple of cutesty, creepy poison Pokemon with a Barney the Dinosaur color code-- Gulpin and Swalot. They both have very simple designs based on being curved, circular fellows with a slug-shape that are supposed to be based on a stomach or trash bag. The design is nothing to rant about, but I can see the appeal of these monsters. They're kind of cutesy, simple, and sometimes you need Pokemon like that.

On the other hand, Swalot's Pokédex entries describe Swalot as spraying prey with stomach acid before eating them whole. Yikes!
