FIASCO! EP. 1 DIRTY POLITICS PT. 2

Today's episode of Tabletop Tales is the second part of the breakdown of the story we made in Fiasco, I've titled "Dirty Politics". This is the second and last part where I break down the first act, the tilt, the second act, and the after math of our suburban tragedy.

DIRTY POLITICS: ACT 1

SCENE 1
Our first scene opens with Sgt. Andy Vorchev (Justin Shavers), a cop in the small town of Donner, arriving in a civilian vehicle at a crappy flat in Little Bosnia. Andy and his partner Charlie bust down the door and arrest a den of meth men. Andy takes a Dirty Harry revolver off a gang banger and stows it away in his jacket as a souvenir. Charlie asks him where he got the information on this incredible bust and Andy just shrugs it off and says he has connection.

SCENE 2
Evelyn "Eve" Halfcoq (Katherine Qualls) comes home from her job at Fancy Cuts hair salon to ask her husband, Adam (Zach Stanifer), about getting more hours. Adam explains he needs her at the house to take care of the kids, because soon he'll be busy campaigning and the like. The argument mostly comes to nothing, Eve fine with his decision, and Adam leaves her start dinner as someone knocks on the back door.

SCENE 3
The door knock is the familiar patter of Radu Smirinov (Sean Barnes) at the back door. Adam invites the other up to his study to talk. Radu tells Adam that he wants his locally famous "original recipe"  so he can begin cooking the meth, instead of Adam, and become the meth king of Donner. After all, Adam is going to be running for mayor in the fall. Adam refuses to give the recipe just yet, but tells Radu he'll think about it. Radu leaves irritated and piles into his ice cream truck.

SCENE 4
Radu meets up with Andy at a crappy diner to talk about the bust. Radu takes credit for helping Andy with the bust, but orders the "super cop" a pie, cutting him a fat piece, and as they sat there Radu reminisces about their time in the "old country". Radu reminds Andy of the crimes he committed in Bosnia and of the affair he had with Eve (after all, Radu is Luke's godfather). He then baits Andy with the information that his "boss" is Adam. Radu leaves with the knowledge that, if he needs to do so, he can probably get Andy to deal with Adam if he doesn't give him the recipe.

SCENE 5
Andy goes to gets his haircut, requesting Eve, much to her discomfort. While she gives him a hair cut, being terribly polite, but cutting him while shaving him, Andy asks about Luke and tells Eve she should be concerned about the sort of people that Adam deals with. Andy leaves and Eve is now suspicious of Radu.

SCENE 6
Eve confronts Adam about Radu. Adam tries to convince her that he is just helping get votes for the upcoming elections. Eve tells him that if he is doing anything that might endanger the family or his career, he should stop it. He shrugs it off, then gets a phone call from Radu, and takes it up to his study.

SCENE 7
Radu tells Adam that he is in the backyard to pick up the next order of meth. Adam tells Radu that he is ready to leave the game and, because Radu has been such a good business partner, give him the recipe, but there is a catch; Adam wants "super cop" dealt with since the "super cop" could screw up his plans. And if Radu can't handle it, he has an ace in the hole. But, if Radu wants the recipe he'll do as his boss says. Radu agrees to take care of Andy.

SCENE 8
Radu and Andy meet up at the diner. Radu lies to Andy and tells he has got another great lead for him to track down. The cop is glad for the tip and Radu is glad he is so compliant. Radu convinces Andy he needs a gun for added protection; since he is working with the cops now. Andy gives the revolver to Radu and the two part.

DIRTY POLITICS: THE TILT
In the tilt, the two factors that came up were that "a bad plan would be executed perfectly" and guilt would lead to "a showdown".

To be continued in PT. 3 of Dirty Politics where we will have Act 2 and the Aftermath.
