WORD OF THE DAY! 12/31/11
time-space compression [tahym-speys-kuhm-presh-uhn]
noun
1. also known as space-time convergence, is a term used to describe a process or processes that seemingly accelerate the experience of time and reduce the significance of distance during a given historical moment.
EX. Thanks to the empty-headedness of kid's television, Ash Ketchum hasn't aged in over a decade.
The use of time-space compression, in this case the conduit, as opposed to some mind shattering technology, has been the minds of the producers, writers and the bright box we call television, to keep Ash Ketchum from aging in a way that is more creepy than when Michael Jackson became white.
Despite saving the world, even the universe, on about a dozen occasions, Ash Ketchum is trapped in the body and mindset of a pre-pubescent boy. Perhaps someday, a brilliant Japanese writer will get it into his head to have Ash mature, and release him from his hellish existence where he, like Sisyphus, is forced to push the same stupid boulder up the same godd*** hill for all eternity.
P.S. A new protagonist and a different tone might make the show tolerable, again.

WORD OF THE DAY! 12/30/11
figment [fig-muhnt]
noun
1. a mere product of mental invention; a fantastic notion.
2. a feigned, invented, or imagined story, theory, etc.
EX. "Oh, bother. It appears are old friends have found their way through three secure checkpoints, Christopher Robin." Pooh stared at the blinking red dots that scattered across the 360 degree circle of panels around himself and his companion.
Christopher Robin looked down at his former figment with a satisfied frown, "Don't worry, my silly old bear." He looked at his watch, "Calvin and Hobbes won't be reaching their honey if I have anything to say about it."

WTF WEDNESDAY! PRESENTS OBSCURUS LUPA's TWO FRONT TEETH REVIEW
WTF WEDNESDAY PRESENTS:
OBSCURUS LUPA's TWO FRONT TEETH REVIEW
Obscurus Lupa is one of my favorite internet reviewers, generally covering obscure and b-movie material that is too obscure to be nostalgic and amusing in its right. Today's subject is a Christmas movie unlike any Christmas movie you have ever seen. Two Front Teeth is the movie for people who want to see vampire elves, ninja nuns and one of the most over the top and awesome fight scenes of all time!
WORD OF THE DAY! 12/28/11
evolution [ev-uh-loo-shuhn]
noun
1. any process of growth or formation; development.
2. a product of such development.
3. Biology. change in the gene pool of population from generation to generation by such processes as mutation, natural selection, and genetic drift.
4. a process of gradual, peaceful, progressive change or development, as in social or economic structure or institutions.
5. a motion incomplete in itself, but combining with coordinated motions to produce a single action, as in a machine.
EX. Pokémon evolution is not your standard biological evolution. It is a hyper evolution, more akin to a metamorphosis, like a caterpillar into a cocoon into a butterfly. These transformations are triggered by anything from reaching a certain point in their training, to the use of certain stones and items, to the location that they train in.
No pokémon better shows off the latter kinds of evolution, stone related and location related, than the Evolution Pokémon, Evee.

MIXED BAG. TABLE TOP TALES: AURAMONGER DECK. Update. 12/27
TABLE TOP TALES PRESENTS:
AURAMONGER DECK
This
article serves two purposes: To share the nerd entertainment around
with anyone who might find it sorta interest and to keep myself in
check. To do the latter, I'll be keeping track of how much I've invested
into building my decks (I plan to have at least 2).
So, here we go into discussing my first deck being updated, which includes cards from the following purchases:
Deck Builder's Toolkit. Cost: $17
Intro Pack: 2012 Core Set, Sacred Assault. Cost: $13
Intro Pack: Mirroden Besieged, Battle Cries. Cost: $13
1 Booster Battle Pack: Cost: $10
Total Expense: $69Note: Some of these purchases were gifts for Christmas or my Birthday.
So, from these purchases I've built...
AURAMONGER DECK
The deck has gone through about several
major reconfigurations and I feel like it is really starting to take
shape. I'd love some comments and recommendations from veterans, but
keep in mind I am pretty casual.
To check out the cards in my Auramonger Deck, hit "Read More" below.

Traversing the Galaxy in his intergalactic travels to Pigfarts!" - Draco Malfoy, A Very Potter Musical
WEEKLY ROUND-UP! 12/19-12/25 2011
WEEKLY ROUND-UP:
SUPERHERO CHRISTMAS WEEK!
Seriously, nothing is more jolly than Batman with a can of spray plastic explosives and a city of unsuspecting criminals to terrorize. Haven't played my new copy of Arkham Asylum but I am itching to get that sucked out of its box!
Gojirra! King of Shrubbery Monsters!
Gojirra: King of Shrubbery Monsters vs. Amerikajin Kurisumasu Deberu! OR
ゴジッラ VS. アメリカ人クリスマスデベル !
Dedicated to Terry Pratchett, my favorite author and believer in the power of believing.
This film means so much to me and I probably have watched it about once a year (or major sections of it once year) every year since I can remember. For me, it is Christmas and Halloween wrapped up in a big bow with a card that says, "Yes, its okay."
Between Blue Beetle and Booster Gold I hope I've managed to expose a couple of people to these awesome characters.
1. WORD OF THE DAY! 12/24/11. Man's Best Friend.
I thought it would be a fun Christmas article to write a little history about Krypto the Superdog but it touched me a lot. I have to admit, to my embarrassment, that when I was writing about Krypto's death, I had to stop myself from tearing up.
If Superman is a great role model and dogs are great role models, then Krypto is someone to be admired.
Epic Beard is Back! And I got a Sonic Screwdriver for Christmas! |

MUSICAL MONDAY! A VERY POTTER MUSICAL!
A lot of musical fans know Darren Criss as one of the ensemble characters from Fox's Glee. Heck, he's been Blaine for a couple of seasons, an openly gay and confident student who scored the first Billboard #1 Hit for the show with his cover of Katy Perry's Teenage Dreams. I know him as Harry F-ing Potter.
If you haven't already checked it out, make sure to watch it at the link below. Or if you want more Potter, check out A Very Potter Sequel.
