A little earlier this time around but hey, like a good wizard, Loot Crates are never late nor early, they arrive precisely when they mean to.

And it has been a big month:

• Easter saw an unexpected reunion between our family and my uncles (who I hadn't seen in a few years) who came with my Grandpa.
• I finally got my King Dedede Amiibo and a lot of Star Wars figures, a couple books, and a special item I'll feature tomorrow.
• I beat Super Mario Bros. 3 (finally) and started working on Far Cry 4, watching The Arrow, and played more Vampire the Masquerade.
• I watched Birdman (or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance). Watch it.
• I finally got my driver's license!

2015 has been pretty interesting, so far.

Now, let's talk about Loot Crate:

I still haven't watched the new episode(s) of Game of Thrones Season 5. But I am so stoked for Season 5!

I don't have much more to say. Well, I got a little anecdote: I associate Game of Thrones with cutting grass. I can't help but think about Game of Thrones while I cut grass. Why?

It airs during prime grass cutting months, I usually watch it off my DVR on my day off (Monday), and then I go cut grass. So, I will always associate lawnmowers and Peter Dinklage. The human mind is a mystery.

But Game of Thrones is awesome.

WEIRD AL YANKOVIC: FOIL! (Parody of Lorde's "Royals")

Weird Al Yankovic's newest album, Mandatory Fun, has taken the internet (which, at this point, pretty much represents the world, I suppose) by storm in the most potent parody blitzkrieg since, well, the last time that Weird Al delivered the goods!

As part of the campaign to get people hyped and entertained the masses, Weird Al has released about a half-dozen music videos that, with a little google searching, you can find on the various sites he debuted them on. There are a lot of solid videos that show that Weird Al is as good as ever, as if there were any doubt, but my favorite has to be his parody of Lorde's "Royals".

This video starts off in kind of a predictable way but, brilliantly, takes quite a dark and clever turn about halfway in. I love it.

Speaking of things I love, how does a Game of Thrones bonus video sound for my fellow up-to-date GoT fans? How about a montage of the series set to Lorde's cover of Tears for Fears "Everybody Wants to Rule the World"? Are you not entertained?

Let's start this chilly Monday with a look at, possibly but not definitely, the last and possible best Frozen parody of the bunch:

Team Four Star is the big success story of the Youtube Abridged community; a super group of talented voice actors and producers of their own series, they have been producing episode of Dragon Ball Z Abridged for 5 years and are still going strong.

They also do one-offs like this week's featured video and their classic parody of "I'll Make a Man Out of You" from Disney's Mulan.

Seriously, if you like anime (or even if you don't), abridgers produce some of the funniest content on youtube and you should check them out if you somehow haven't by this point.

THE DRAGON'S DAUGHTER! (GAME OF THRONES TRIBUTE MIX)

Last week I mentioned I'm stoked for the new season of Game of Thrones, so lemme talk about a funny little antecdote:

I dunno why, but every time I cut the grass I think of Game of Thrones. My family lives in the country and we have a good chunk of land that I gotta cut every one to three weeks over the spring and summer to keep it from getting out of hand. My mind seems to almost always wander to Game of Thrones and Game of Thrones based fantasies (like made-up characters and future events, etc.). Maybe it has something to do with the series being associated with that time of year or maybe I just want to write cool fiction like George R R Martin. I got no idea...

SNOOP LION: GET AWAY (MUSIC VIDEO)

I've been overindulging in MowtenDoo's remixes lately and there is plenty of Snoop to be had on his channel's various video game remixes. So, when I read that Snoop Lion's newest music video played homage to 2D video games, especially Pokémon, I checked it out. Suffice to say, it's a pretty mellow music video and fits the song's tone of escape.

I give it two Snoopzillas way up and props to Major Lazer.

 Let's end on an especially high note with another recent subscription, Corax. I first ran into this animator's work on several Game Grumps animated, with their style winning me over, but this little video really show's Corax potential by taking something that would probably never be animated and making it truly come to life. I love how Dunkey is personified in the video and I hope that Corax makes more Dunkey videos so I can see that smug face in his animation.

Modern Masters was simultaneously fun and challenging, perhaps more of the latter than the prior, but with the introduction of more and more MtG content, I keep getting pulled back into the game.
