WTF WED! THE POWERPUFF GIRLS SAVE ZAN FROM THE TRICORN ASSASSIN!

I wake up and pull out my phone. I've just finished sleeping for about four hours after an eight hour shift in the mines of Tahr-jeh, climbing up and down perilous ladders, taking boxes out of some holes and putting other boxes into some and other holes. The holiday spirit is upon us and the holiday spirit is oppressive. Glitter everywhere.

The Tricorn appears on my youtube subscription. Thank you Tricorn. Thank you.

I need to play another Assassin's Creed game, since I haven't played any of the games besides the first title, which was fairly innovative, and Brotherhood, which was silly fun, because I get two accounts from my fellow gamers:

1. The game is great. The co-op provides hours of fun, the story built since Blackflag is engaging, and the setting is cool.

2. The game is okay, except the fact that it is another glitchy unfinished Ubisoft game that fails to live up to the hype and was shoved out the door, with an embargo on reviews, to screw over the fans.

As for my feelings on the franchise, I wish they'd at least space out the sequels in the series or, at the very least, to allow themselves time to ship a complete game.

Oh, and as for the games I played in the series, they were fun but the gameplay was often teeth grindingly repetitive and the story was a mix of dull and confusing.

Sorry. Well, who am I apologizing to? Only like six people read these articles. I hate my millennial mid-twenties cynicism. Pout.

I wish they would reimagine my favorite shows in more creative ways, rather than simply toyifing my childhood nostalgia to turn into cheap pieces of plastic without regard for good writing, good character designs, or anything resembling creativity.

I would watch an HBO animated series.

On a similar note, check out Bojack Horseman on Netflix. It is a hoot and a half.

MUSIC MON! RAPUNZEL, RAPUNZEL LET DOWN YOUR MAD BEATS FOR SHREK 2!

From the same madly delightfully marvelously demented animator that brought us WHUR MUH BOATS AT? comes another "so cute you would need to stab yourself in the eyes to not enjoy it" cartoon.

On a semi-related note, make sure to check out the newest trailer for the next season of Game of Thrones. It's Game of Thrones. Watch it.

I've been overindulging in MowtenDoo's remixes lately and there is plenty of Snoop to be had on his channel's various video game remixes. So, when I read that Snoop Lion's newest music video played homage to 2D video games, especially Pokémon, I checked it out. Suffice to say, it's a pretty mellow music video and fits the song's tone of escape.

I give it two Snoopzillas way up and props to Major Lazer.

Let's end on an especially high note with another recent subscription, Corax. I first ran into this animator's work on several Game Grumps animated, with their style winning me over, but this little video really show's Corax potential by taking something that would probably never be animated and making it truly come to life. I love how Dunkey is personified in the video and I hope that Corax makes more Dunkey videos so I can see that smug face in his animation.

WORD OF THE DAY! 4/4/13!

dysfunctional [dis-fuhngk-shuh-nul]
adjective
1. Not performing normally, as an organ or structure of the body; malfunctioning.
2. Having a malfunctioning part or element.
3. Behaving or acting outside social norms.

EX. I think it would be very difficult to find a family unit more dysfunctional in Westeros than the Lannisters-- considering the fact that the family "dog" is a horribly scarred bodyguard who cuts men down with ease (I think he's hiding some where in the background...).

WORD OF THE DAY! 6/17/12.

quick time event (QTE) [kwik-tahym-ehv-ent]
noun
1. An interactive cut scene-like sequence in a video game where the player has a limited time in which to push a button, or sequence of buttons, displayed on screen.

EX. I think the problem with quick time events is, that while entertaining as a novelty, they manage to take you out of a cinematic moment and fail to simulate video game play; basically, the concept is a failed one.

WORD OF THE DAY! 6/5/12.

Greek fire [greek-fahyr]
noun
1. A weapon utilized by the Byzantine Empire, it was typically used in naval battles, to great effect, as it could burn while floating on water. It provided a technological advantage over the Byzantine's enemies, leading to victory in many key battles, and securing the position of the Byzantine Empire for many years. The weapon had such an effect on west European crusaders that all such incendiary devices were called by the same name. The contents of Greek fire remain a mystery to this day, the mixtures kept secret to protect their military advantage, and to this day the exact contents are unknown.
2. Any sort of flame or inflammable weapons that are difficult to put out or uncontrollable; such as a wildfire.

EX. *GAME OF THRONES SPOILERS AHEAD*

The wildfire in Game of Thrones, which is based on the Greek fire weapons of the Byzantine, led to one of the most impressive special effects in not only the television series, but in fantasy television. The fire effects were splendid, the color was vibrant, and all of the practical effects (explosions, stunts, etc.) made for a memorable moment in a worthwhile series. And now for something completely different.

Prince Joffrey is one of the worst characters I've ever seen in fiction. Combine the spoiled child of Dudley Dursley, the blond bully of Draco Malfoy, and the sadism of Dolores Umbridge and what do you get? Prince Joffrey. The moment that really defines the first season for me is when, after hearing the childish bullcrap spew from the boy's mouth, his dwarf uncle Tyrion (the show's break-out Emmy award-winning character portrayed by Peter Dinklage) just slaps the piss out of him. It is cathartic.
