MIXED BAG. TABLETOP TALES: WURMWOOD DECK
TABLETOP TALES PRESENTS:
THE WURMWOOD DECK
To check out my other decks, hit the links below:
This article serves two purposes: To share the nerd entertainment around with anyone who might find it interesting and, in this case, to prove how taking the theme of an intro pack, especially a more recent intro pack, can not only make a passable deck, but also a powerful and fun deck.
Today's deck is a brand-spanking-new construction made from an intro pack and about twenty cards either bought, traded, or pulled from older purchases. As an early draft of a concept, you can expect to see a better achieved form of my themes in the future. Here is the main component:
Intro Pack: Dark Ascension, Grave Power, Cost: $13
Note: You can see the full decklist of the original to compare by clicking HERE.
17 Individual Cards, Cost: $10
You can find Magic Cards in super stores (Ex. Walmart, Target) but the best place you can buy your cards, meet other players, and play in events is at your local comic book store or hobby shop. I buy most of my cards at The Comic Cellar. Here is a link to its Google Maps location at 3620 Austin Peay Highway #2 Memphis, TN 38128.
Without further ado, with these purchases, I built...
THE WURMWOOD DECK
The deck follows several themes including, but not limited to, : Treefolk, Wurms, Flight, and stealing power from beyond the grave. As I only try to build and present decks that I can afford, this deck is still in a prototype phase, and I hope you will be able to enjoy it. An example of changes I'd like to make would be to stick a Tree of Redemption in here, but, and its a decent but, he is currently serving time in my aura deck. Also, this deck includes cards from others set but I think Avacyn Restored might have some nifty blue and greens that I can add in to make it a completely Innistrad limited deck.

WTF WEDNESDAY! LEGEND OF THE EXCELLENT HEROES! EPISODE 1- BEES!
WTF WEDNESDAY PRESENTS:
To quote my old friend Matt "Mapp Pears" Pierce AKA SAKKET AKA pugfarts on the content of this video, "Hooray! This is a cartoon about bees!"
Maybe its just me, but every time I see one of his videos pop up on my subscription feed I feel my heart do a happy little cart wheel. In a style that emulates the most bizarre lows of Japanese animation with the most delightful highs of shows like Adventure Time with Finn and Jake and The Misadventures of Flapjack, his cartoons are almost always guaranteed to make someone in the room uncomfortable. But hey, if you find whimsy and gleeful exuberance to be uncomfortable than why are you watching cartoons to begin with?
WORD OF THE DAY! 2/8/12

Bi-Weekly Double Down! 1/23-2/5 12
BI-WEEKLY DOUBLE DOWN:
BROUGHT TO YOU BY
GENTLEMAN CAT
GENTLEMAN CAT
Gary Oak is, perhaps, the biggest troll in all of video game history. The only worse trolls would be Toad ("You're Princess is in another castle!") or maybe Athena in the God of War series. What do you guys think?
6. Word of the Day! 2/1/12. Atavism.
When is Marvel going to make Scott Summers and Logan make dirty hate sex in the woods?
“Remember my super cool Rattata? My Rattata is different from regular Rattata. It’s like my Rattata is in the top percentage of rattatas.”-Joey, Pokemon Gold, Silver, Crystal, Heartgold & Soul Silver
All I know is that if I saw one of the creepy little Mythbusters at my door I'd run or stomp it into the welcome mat in pure unadulterated terror.
3. Word of the Day! 1/27/12. Schematics.
Pokeballs are simply fascinating little device that exist to fit a niche in their universe and when probed with inquiry quickly develop into something wholly sinister.

MUSICAL MONDAY! VOLTAIRE!
Musical Monday Presents:
VOLTAIRE's WHEN YOU'RE EVIL
The musical technician can play an instrument, whether that be their voice, guitar, or a triangle, but that's it. A musician is an artist, a poet, and, on top of that, can play an instrument. Today's subject, Voltaire, knows how to tell a good story. In fact, you've probably enjoyed at least on of his songs already.
Voltaire is an artist who has directed several shorts, commercials and short films for MTV, Syfy, Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon. He has also written several books on goth culture. His station IDs are quite memorably for their morbid humor and dark style. Anyone remember this?
NICKELODEON BUGS STATION ID
You can check out the rest of his videos on his youtube channel linked below.
But we're here to talk about a couple of awesome songs he has done. First, lets get the one you most certainly know out of the way. Do you remember the Brains Episode of Billy and Mandy? Voltaire is the evil brain eating monster with the swing music to sway his prey into his tentacled maw! You can watch the whole short below (its only about 8 minutes).
But what caught my attention was a funky little single called, When You're Evil. I am not gonna lie, I found it while looking around for interest PMVs (biggest thing since AMVs). The song is so much fun and filled with a incorrigible level of devilish glee. To check it out I'll link a non-pony and a pony version below.
